Thoughts on Time

Time passes whether we want it to or not.  If I am doing something or if I am doing nothing, time passes.

People will tell me that I do a lot.  I don’t know how to respond.  I don’t think I do that much.  (if you look at my house, you would agree)

I think the things I do are to pass the time.  Fill it up so I don’t have to feel.  Yet when I am in the garden, sowing or reaping or even watching chicken TV, I don’t even notice the restriction of time.

It’s presence fades in the background.  Oh, it’s still ticking but I’m not trying to push it forward or hold it back.

Thoughts about Love

Love is a thing, a very strange thing.  I can have it for Gpa and give it to you.

The love I have for Gpa is piling up and overflowing.  I haven’t known what to do with it.  Felt like popping.

It can be killed.  My first husband stomped all over what love I had for him.  He did this until there was no emotion left at all.  I would see him and think ‘who is this?’

But I’d be very careful for he was still very full of all kinds of emotions.  I never knew what I was going to get with him.

Our last conversation where he was conscious was over an upset with the second wife.

In his case, I don’t think love was enough and I’m not sure how to process this.

In Gpa’s case, there’s so much love it will continue to spread for years to come.

Yet in both instances I’m sad.

Told you love is a strange thing.

Your Representatives in Congress

If you live in America and have an opinion on what is going on in Congress, the best thing to do is to tell your representatives.

http://whoismyrepresentative.com/

This website will tell you who they are and their contact information.  I plan to contact reps on both sides of the house.   I encourage you to do so as well.

I hope you have a wonderful day what ever you do.

Going to go let the chickens out now.

The Law of Gravity

The law of gravity works the same for everyone.  In juggling class. we do things to defy that law.  We throw things up in the air, catch them and then throw them up again.  For as long as we can.  However, gravity is always there and at some point a bean bag, ring, scarf or club gets dropped.

When that happens, the item falls to the ground. Each and every time.  No exceptions.  It’s gonna happen.  Doesn’t matter who you are, or what you believe.

The number one rule I teach in class is It is OK to drop.  If you drop you pick it up.  At the end of class I ask who has dropped.  Usually all the hands go up.  It’s hard sometimes to admit, but they all did and I coach the one(s) who haven’t raised their hands.

When all the hands are up.  I thank the class for following the rule.

Governments create laws as well.  America was founded on the freedom of choice.  Specifically the freedom to choose how to worship God.  Other choices are important as well.  The leaders were chosen to represent their constituents.  And for all I know they did so.

Over time this has changed.  In the recent months both state and federal governments have been pushing their own agenda.  Even in the face of protests by the people.   Not all of them.  In the face of the threat of the government shutting down, some of them are saying they are donating their salary.  Isn’t that nice?

Is it?  They are still a member of the elite.  They are still under a different set of laws and benefits.  They have been defying gravity along with the hold outs.

The ball is dropping. We are watching it fall.  It is scary for many because they have ignored the law.  Or maybe they’ve never been taught the law.  But I say courage, do not fear in this time of change and uncertainty.  Reach out and support those around you with dignity and hope.

Do not become a mindless mob.  For as reasoning people with a choice, we can choose the higher path. Even now.  As things shift.  Remember the greatness of how this country was built.  Remember that as we stand together each individual, unique and precious, we will pick up the ball and begin again.

And maybe the leaders will be a bit more mindful that there are laws that all must follow.

Four O’Clocks and Hummingbirds

I didn’t rush back into the house after I let the chickens out.  There were a few purple hull peas to harvest and there were seeds in the four o’clocks.  I love the bright pink of these flowers and the ease of growing them.  The bushes I have came from a clipping from a fence on my route to work.  I think it is so clever that many plants have more than one way to propagate.

The seeds  I collect will go into making seed balls, some of which will be planted in the borders of the garden labyrinth.

As I quietly collected, I saw a movement.  At first it looked like a moth collecting nectar.  It’s coloring looked to be plaid.  I stopped what I was doing and watched.  The wings looked to be moving like a hummingbird!  If I had my phone with me I would have taken a picture.  But I don’t think it would have been a good picture.  The small thing was moving so fast that I don’t think it would have been in frame in the time between my pressing the button and the actual taking of the picture.

So I stood quiet and watched.

It was a great way to start the day!

I hope you have a great day as well.
